Mitchell, Herzog & Klingsporn, A Limited Liability Partnership, is a law firm in Palo Alto California.

For over forty years we have been providing quality legal representation to clients from throughout Silicon Valley and the greater San Francisco Bay Area. Our practice includes civil litigation with a focus on commercial and real estate disputes, real estate and corporate transactions, and trust and estate planning.

Kent Mitchell

Kent Mitchell represents clients in real estate and business transactions, trust and estate planning, and general corporate matters.

Kent is a founding member of the firm, joining with Richard Herzog in 1976 to form the firm of Mitchell & Herzog LLP. Prior to forming the firm, Kent was a sole practitioner for ten years, and prior to that was an associate at Brobeck, Phlegler, and Harrison. He is a member of the State Bar of California.

Kent received his J.D. degree from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1965. He is a 1961 graduate of Stanford University and a member of Stanford's Athletic Hall of Fame. He has served three terms as the mayor of Portola Valley. He was a member of the U.S. Olympic Rowing Team in 1960 (bronze) and 1964 (gold.) 

Gregory K. Klingsporn

Greg Klingsporn's practice is primarily civil litigation, with a focus on real estate and commercial disputes.

Greg joined the firm in 2002 and became a member in 2005. Prior to joining Mitchell, Herzog & Klingsporn, Greg was an associate at the Palo Alto office of Cooley Godward LLP. He is a member of the State Bar of California.

Greg received a J.D. degree in 1999 from the Columbia University School of Law in New York, NY, where he was the Note Editor for the Columbia-VLA Journal for Law & The Arts. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Creative Writing (with Departmental Honors) in 1992 from Stanford University. He was a member of the United States National Rowing Team in 1995 and 1996, and represented the U.S.A. at the 1995 Pan American Games, where he won a gold medal in the lightweight four without coxswain.

Richard R. Herzog (Retired)

Dick Herzog was a founding member of the firm, along with Kent Mitchell. He has practiced law since 1970. He received his law degree and undergraduate degree from Stanford University. Dick's wide-ranging litigation practice included commercial, family law, and real estate matters. 

As of 2006, Dick has retired from active practice.
